Browsers (AOL, Firefox and Explorer) need a few
add-ins (not to be confused with add-ons) to allow you to get the best from the
Internet. The clever people who write add-ins make sure they work with all
browsers unlike some browser companies who only want web authors to write for
them.
You do not need these add-ins to visit the site but it does
use Flash images (which need a Shockwave download) which makes the
site more colourful and fun to use. The choice is yours.
Some add-in writers also suffer delusions of grandeur and
ask you to make their product your first or default choice. The media players
are slogging it out on our computers. So check what you are agreeing to when
you install add-ins.
