Literaturetraining and Writing at Godmersham
Magazine
This offshoot of the UK's National Association for Writers in Education provides a useful free fortnightly email newsletter with many opportunities for writers and those working in the UK literature sector.
It has just sent out its 100th bulletin, a bumper one packed with over 50 opportunities. Their first ever newsletter went out December 2003 - it contained around 20 opportunities and was received by a modest 80-odd subscribers. Today, literaturetraining's subscribers number nearly 3,500 and the bulletin regularly features 50 or so items.
Writing at Godmersham Park
A group of published authors has organised a creative writing course at Godmersham Park Mansion near Canterbury. This beautiful house has a famous Jane Austen connection, as the novelist's brother lived there and she often visited him, making it a fantastic place for a writing course.
The course will include an open forum with agents and published authors to determine the routes and obstacles to publication, and it is non-residential.
