The Templar Poetry Pamphlet and Collection Prizes

Submissions are accepted of short collections of poetry of between 18 and 24 pages.

The Prizes offer contemporary poets writing in English the opportunity to have their work published in short pamphlet, collection and anthology formats.

Entry fee £18

Closing date entries postmarked 8 May

The poetry must be original work and may have been published previously in magazines, anthologies and other media; but must not have been published as part of a pamphlet or full collection. Translated work is not eligible.

These prizes offer an opportunity for the four winners to have their submission published in pamphlet format and there is also the option go on to submit a full collection. Three of Templar's first collection poets have been shortlisted in major prizes and many of their pamphlet poets have received recognition in other major prizes. The annual anthology which accompanies the new pamphlets publishes a selection of poems from the shortlisted poets. A significant number of anthology poets have gone on to have their work published by other poetry presses and recognised in other major poetry prizes.

The four winning writers, along with anthology poets, are offered an opportunity to read at the Derwent Poetry Festival in Derbyshire, where Templar publish many of their new titles each autumn.
