At a time when other new models are being tried in US publishing - such as Molly Stern's start-up Zando, involving major influencer imprints, and the independently revived Spiegel & Grau - McIntosh is trying something different that seems to be taking lessons from all those successful independent and hybrid authors out there. It's not for nothing that she spent a crucial two years working for Amazon between her stints at PRH.
